Dear Bonki, I think its great you are spreading the word about exercise. I am also glad your rotator cuff got better witht he injection. I just wanted you to know that there are alternatives to surgery for most simple rotator cuff tears and most Orthopedic injuries using bioregenerative medicine with stem cells and platelet rich plasma. I have been performing the techniques Bartolo Colon the Yankee pitcher used to repair his rotator cuff for years very effectively. I think you are doing a great job with the Society. I missed you at the last county society meeting. I wanted to fill you in on the PIP auto regulations. Take care. Ed Magaziner

I would love to help develop cardio programs within select hospitals via the spinning platform as a way to contribute to your NJ FitDoc Challenge Program. As a CPA and a Certified Spinning Instructor I am very much aware of the rigors of a managing a challenging professional career and its impact on our life style choices (nutrition, exercise, family, LIFE BALANCE). My choice of the spinning training approach was the catalyst to my entire transformation. Through spinning i was able to successfully link healthy food choices with not only training performance but life performance, i began to notice that i was careful with what I ate and drank on days earmarked for spinning, that thinking then spilled over into non training days to the point where i just knew healthier food choices had to be the norm, why introduce toxins (foods that impair performance like sugars, high fructose corn syrup etc) that clearly impact physical and mental performance. The transition started slowly but gained momentum with each passing day, thru spinning my level of nutritional consciousness was keenly elevated to the point where you realize that we are constantly presented with choices, the true life challenge is to connect these choices with the power of knowledge and apply that knowledge to everything we do. For example, why simply eat a danish at a seminar when a glass of cold water and some fresh fruit were available options. The danish provides absolutely no nutrional value (a ton of useless calories!) and the true connection to garbage food and its impact on ones physical and mental condition becomes clearer and clearer as you train. As you become fit, your ability to strike the work-life balance becomes a realistic mission. In any event, please let me know how we can put something together to bridge your program with that of the spinning platform.

Thank you

Glad you are getting back on the program Bonki! As a lifelong cyclist,I encourage you to get a bike,if you don't already have one, and start to ride,in addition to weight training. It is great for the knees and hips, and easier on your shoulders,at least! I participated in the Am Cancer Soc Bikeathon yesterday, riding from Cherry Hill to Buena,NJ with 4000 + of my closest friends! Beautiful day and great So Jersey scenery, which can only be appreciated from a bike. I'm not a speed demon, but my Polar heart rate monitor calculated a 2200 caloric consumption in 4 hours! Not sure if it will translate to weight loss, but certainly to fun and fitness. I'm recruiting any other MSNJ members who want to ride in the MS 150 City to Shore bike tour in Sept. Keep up the challenge, Bonki, and be well! Mary C. MSNJ Present-elect
